It’s such a special time of year for me as a Prep Mum and Chappy. This morning, I had the privilege of hosting a Mother’s Day Event for Prep Mums and/or Maternal figures. It was very special seeing people engage with each other. I thought it was hilarious watching Mums receive a hand massage and dress up for a funny photo. I know my hand massage was so nice, but my hands had quite a lot of cream on them afterwards! I hope those who came enjoyed the connection time. I spent quite a while preparing the Jenga with a twist. I wrote little questions on a few pieces for each tower. It reminded me that connection is simple. I think we sometimes overcomplicate connection. Sometimes all we need to do is add something to what we already do. Do you have a question you ask your kids at dinnertime? Do you have a nighttime routine that includes moments of engagement and fun? Do you think about fun moments and share them with each other? Do you jump on the trampoline together or take the dogs for a walk? These little moments are so special. I sometimes undervalue my little moments with my kids. But those moments matter. They are special and valued. Weaved together these moments create a wonderful foundation for our little people to grow into loved and grounded adults.
