A big shout out to all who supported us during Fun/Crazy Sock Day on Wednesday! It was so much fun connecting with kids on something so fun and novel. It's truly one of the best parts of my job. I had two creative year 6's help design mine and I absolutely love them! 

A big shout out to the senior leaders who helped me with some spontaneous sock inspired games at lunchtime. I truly enjoyed seeing them thrive in their leadership. This is such an essential part of good leadership. Communicating effectively, inspiring the younger generation. Bravo seniors!

Last week I connected with Cassandra Tallon from the Psych Edit over a coffee. I love listening to people when they are so passionate about their field of expertise. Cassandra had some really great strategies for parents in communicating with their kids. When you and your child have a difference in opinion get them to EXPLAIN why they want it. You can then explain what you want and why. The next step is to EXPLORE; this is when you brainstorm potential options or solutions. The final step is to EMPOWER, to get them to help choose a solution.  I loved the way she was able to draw out this example with specific examples. We are truly surrounded by a wonderful community of caring professionals. A big shoutout to Cassandra for her time with me. She truly has a beautiful heart and extensive experience.
