From the Leadership Team
Dear Kenmore families,
Welcome to Term 3. We extend a warm welcome to the five new students and their families who have joined our school community this term. With their arrival, our enrolment has now grown to over 520 students. As we continue to grow steadily, our focus remains on nurturing a connected and supportive community where we can grow together.
Community Connections: 125th Anniversary Celebration Saturday 26th May
It’s only eight sleeps to go until our 125th Anniversary Celebration, scheduled for Saturday 26 July 2025 from 3pm-8pm. We look forward to welcoming our families, friends, and community members to share in this special milestone - a chance to reflect on our school's rich history and enjoy a relaxed afternoon together.
A sincere thank you to all students, staff, parents, and volunteers who have helped bring this event to life.
The P & C has worked hard to make the event fun and inclusive for all. Your ticket includes the outdoor movie experience, games and activities for all ages, music and dancing, student art and historical display. The event is designed to bring our community together, while raising funds for the school library and reading program.
We recommend bringing a picnic rug or blanket to enjoy the afternoon on the oval — and to stay cosy into the evening.
Throughout the afternoon, you’ll hear short snippets of songs the children have been learning in class. When their song plays, students can run to the stage area and join in the flashmob dance - and parents are welcome to have a dance too. It’s all about fun and community spirit.
Approximate program times:
- 2:40pm – Gates Open
- 3:00pm – Official Opening
- 3:15pm – Multigenerational Band
- 3:40pm – Student Band Performances
- 4:00pm – Prep dance
- 4:15pm – Years 1–2 dance
- 4:30pm – Years 3–4 dance
- 4:45pm – Years 5–6 dance
- 5:00pm – Strings Ensemble
Families are welcome to join their children - it's all about enjoying the moment together.
The Scholastic Book Stall will be open during the event. Families are warmly invited to purchase a book for our school library and write a message inside for future students to discover. All proceeds will go toward expanding our collection.
The evening program includes a P&C raffle, colouring-in competition, a special choir performance at 5:45pm, and a movie countdown at 5:55pm. The event will conclude at 8:00pm.
We can’t wait to see you there - thank you for being part of this meaningful chapter in our school’s story.
*An old-fashioned fridge flyer with event timetables and activities will be coming home with with students today
Teaching & learning excellence: Junior History Hunters
Our junior classes have been hard at work as History Hunters, investigating old photographs, newsletters, newspapers, and artefacts to uncover the story of our school’s beginnings. Through careful source analysis they discovered the original classroom and used analysis to work out exactly where it once stood!
At today’s assembly, our young historians proudly shared their findings through historical timeline and helped travel us all back in time. To finish, we came together to sing Happy Birthday to our school!
What a wonderful way to celebrate our rich history and the incredible learning happening in our school

NAPLAN
Individual student NAPLAN reports will be sent home with students this week in sealed envelopes. These reports provide valuable insights into your child’s literacy and numeracy skills, showing how they performed in comparison to national averages. NAPLAN is one of many tools schools use to monitor student progress and guide teaching. We encourage you to read through the report and contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Ingrid
