125 Anniversary Book Stall
Many thanks to all the past and present community members who purchased books to donate to the school, commemorating their relationship with Kenmore State School over the years.
The community connection messages are warm and inspiring, and a beautiful legacy for the school:
“Congratulations on an incredible 125 years educating our kids. So many amazing memories of such a wonderful community.”
“May this story bring you joy, spark your imagination and brighten your days – just like how we feel at Kenmore State School every day.”
“With love and thanks to our school on its 125th Birthday!”
“We have really enjoyed our time at Kenmore State School. It is wonderful to see the growth and community connection. Enjoy your reading.”
“Thank you to all the teachers in KSS for teaching me.”
If you missed out on Saturday and would like to donate a book, then please send it into the school with your family name and community connection message.
It will be a wonderful record to share with future students.
Students should have brought home Issue 5 of the Scholastic Book Club.

Each year since 1945 the Children’s Book Council of Australia brings children and books together celebrating Children’s Book Week. During this time Schools, Libraries, Booksellers, Authors, Illustrators and children celebrate Australian Children's Literature.
2025 is also a milestone year celebrating 80 years of Children’s Book Week! For 8 decades, CBCA has been dedicated to inspiring young minds to journey through the countless worlds that books offer.
Children’s Book Week is The CBCA’s key highlight national event of the year. This year’s celebration will run from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 August.
The 2025 theme is Book an Adventure!
We are looking forward to celebrating Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Week 2025 later in the term. Watch this space for more information!
Fantastic reading so far with over 120 completed Reading Logs already returned. That means over 2400 books have been read so far! Still plenty of time to complete the challenge before the reading period concludes on Friday 22nd August.
Extra reading logs can be collected from Mrs Caskie in the library.
Did you know that books read on the SORA app can also be recorded on the Premier’s Reading Challenge Reading Log? Students need to log in with their MIS-ID and search for Education Queensland. Their MIS-ID is their school login but if they are unsure of this then please email class teacher or Mrs Caskie in the library gcask1@eq.edu.au
Happy reading!
