125 Anniversary Donated Books

Many thanks to families for their generous donations. Students are enjoying borrowing the books which are now on display in the library.

Children’s Book Week is the CBCA’s key highlight national event of the year. This year’s celebration will run from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 August.

The 2025 theme is Book an Adventure!

Over the term Mrs Huddlestone-Holmes will be sharing the short-listed books with students in their library time.

To celebrate Book Week, we have some exciting activities planned:

• Colouring Competition for students in Prep-Year6 – these will be handed out in library sessions and should be returned to the library for judging by 9am on Thursday 21st August.
• Art Activities in the library/classroom
• Book Character Dress-Up Day will be on Friday 22nd August with a whole school parade at 9am. Students should come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We look forward to seeing costumes that are creative and made from low cost/found at home items as it is not intended that parents spend any money on dress ups.
• Yvonne Mes Author/Illustrator Visit on Tuesday 19th August.
• Kristen Willis Author/Illustrator Visit on Friday 22nd August.

Fantastic reading with over 150 completed Reading Logs already returned. That means over 3000 books have been read so far! Still time to complete the challenge before the reading period concludes on Friday 22nd August.

All Reading Logs need to be returned to the library by Tuesday 26^th August.
