From the Leadership Team
Dear Kenmore families,
Welcome back to Term 4! A special welcome to all new families joining our Kenmore community. We are delighted to have you with us as we begin the final term of the 2025 school year. This term is always action-packed as we complete the school year and celebrate student achievements. It’s also a time of transition - as we prepare to farewell our wonderful Year 6 cohort, who are embarking on their final term of primary school before heading to high school.
Prep 2026 Transition Mornings
We are looking forward to welcoming our 2026 Prep students to our upcoming Prep Orientation Mornings. These sessions give our newest learners the chance to experience “A Day in the Life of Prep” and to meet teachers and classmates.
Prep Transition Mornings will be held on:
- Thursday 30 October, 8.30 – 10.30am
- Thursday 6 November, 8.30 – 10.30am
- Thursday 13 November, 8.30 – 10.30am
If you are aware of families within our catchment who have not yet enrolled their prep-aged children - or who have younger siblings ready for Prep - please encourage them to contact the school office as soon as possible.

Year 6 Tallebudgera Camp
Excitement is building for the upcoming Year 6 Tallebudgera Camp, where students will enjoy a week of teamwork, challenge, and adventure as part of their final term celebrations. This experience supports their leadership growth and marks a memorable milestone before the transition to high school.
SORA – Your Online Library
This week on assembly, I shared the story ‘Bear and Duck Are Friends’ with our P-2 students. It’s a gentle reminder of the importance of friendship and understanding differences - messages that connect beautifully to the way we learn and play together at school.
This story was one I’d never read before. I actually discovered it through SORA, our school’s online reading app. SORA is a fantastic tool for students (and teachers!) to explore thousands of eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines from anywhere. It’s a great way to find new stories to enjoy at home or at school.
Students can log in with their school MIS ID, search by title, author, or topic, and even borrow books directly on their device.
Access SORA here: https://soraapp.com
Follow the instructions (contact class teacher if you need your student's MIS ID):
Encourage your child to have a look and discover their next great read - just like I did!
We are excited for the opportunities this term will bring and look forward to continuing our learning journey together. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our Kenmore community.
Kind regards
Ingrid
Principal
Year 6 Art Show
Sculpture Art Show- Year 6 - Social Issues.
The Year 6 Art Show was a wonderful celebration of creativity and critical thinking. Students proudly displayed their sculptures, each highlighting an issue within society. Many even arrived early to help set up, showing just how much the event meant to them. They were thrilled to share their work and truly appreciated the positive feedback from families who attended.
The exhibition sparked great conversations and gave a glimpse into the empathy and deep thinking our students put into their work. Through their sculptures, they explored meaningful themes and used art as a powerful way to communicate ideas and feelings.
Art plays an important role in helping young people express themselves and think in new ways. This showcase was a perfect example of how creativity can inspire confidence and open minds. Thank you to all parents and guardians for your support—your presence made the event so special for our students.
